TRIGUN 101: Manga & Anime briefs

Trigun Manga Bits

Trigun was originally featured in Shounen Captain magazine [Tokuma Shoten publishers] in 1995. Three volumes were released under that label. When SC folded in 1997/98, Nightow renamed the manga Trigun Maximum and moved to Young King Ours magazine [Shounen Gahosha publishers]. With monthly YKO appearances and 11+ volumes available, Trigun rules.

The first three volumes of Trigun have been re-released by YKO as two double-thick volumes. An extra bonus is Nightow's new cover art & editorials.

In 2003, Dark Horse's manga division picked up license to publish the US english release of Trigun & Trigun Maximum. Currently available ^.^

Maybe DH might snag the Wolfwood side story "Freed Bird"? Wishful thinkin', baby!

Trigun Anime Bits

Trigun anime is the yummy 26-episode series based on the manga. The anime ended on its own accord, since the manga is ongoing. Not as spicy as the manga, but a treat to watch! Geneon/Pioneer released the US DVD edition a couple of years ago as an eight-volume set.

Recently, they have re-released Trigun as the uncut "Geneon Signature Series" on DVD. It's value-priced for about $20 per DVD.
